About

Going to school in a state comprehensive in Salford, Greater Manchester  is not the usual start to most gamekeeping careers. In fact the careers teacher at the school did not even know what a gamekeeper was.

With a love of the outdoors through my teenage years I was either out with a camera or gun, with permissions on a local farms and a golf course plus going to local shooting clubs with my uncle. This then progressed to beating with a family friend who lent me the book that was to change my life "Way of the Gamekeeper" by Gill Mason.

After reading that book I was hooked! I manage to get myself on a placement on a Hereford estate via the BASC youth placement scheme, this lead onto a place at collage and an estate in South Wales and after 2 years training working full time in Herefordshire as a Gamekeeper, (underkeeper then beatkeeper)  with City & Guilds and NVQ in gamekeeping and game farming.

Today my skill sets have moved on, 15 years in the photographic industry  wedding, events and product photography. Filming weddings and commercial video for organisations and now a full qualified UAS pilot and approved by the CAA to carry out commercial drone operations. The tool sets have evolved.

I still try and go beating now and again but with my background and love for the outdoors Muck & Mirrors is here to provide your estate / shoot the very best media to tell the story you wish to be told.
